What is an 8821?
Tax Facts employs the use of IRS form 8821 (Tax Information Authorization) to obtain tax information. This form authorizes Tax Facts to inspect and receive tax information. It is not a power of attorney and does not authorize Tax Facts to speak on your behalf.
Why is my Taxpayer Identification Number (SSN/EIN) required?
The IRS has an extensive authentication process designed to prevent your information from being misused. As a result, all your information on the 8821, including your tax ID, must match what the IRS has on file for you. If the IRS cannot validate the information provided, we may request updated information.
What if I find out I have a liability with the IRS?
Your Tax Facts Report includes a free consultation. During your consultation a licensed tax professional will review the details of your report and outline possible resolutions.
